I am a first-year tattooer currently and have been involved in one way or another in the industry for over 15 years. I’ve attended many conventions as a collector and a vendor with my clothing company, Alive At Night. I have been a self-employed artist for 4 years and am now transferring my skills to tattooing.

I like to think I have a great network of people all over Canada and parts of the United States but, there is always room for growth. I am not looking to relocate by any means but hoping to get to a point where I can do regular guest spots at shops everywhere.

Apprenticeship Details

I did an apprenticeship years ago that never worked out. I left there and put a pin in my tattoo dream. Over covid I was approached by a shop owner (non-tattooer) thinking that I was a tattooer but, I was simply a self-employed artist. He invited me to try to tattoo under that shop’s banner but learn on my own which didn’t seem like a good fit for me. I did some fine tattoos but out of my desire for mentorship, I left there and continued my own art path. Fast forward to November 2022, I approached Jamie from Hometown Tattoos about taking me on as an apprentice in the new year once things slowed down for the both of us and he obliged.

Experience Wish

I am hoping to network endlessly, create relationships, meet like-minded people, create art, and learn the whole time. Everyone should be a student of the game until our dying day. We can all learn from each other and staying put and getting comfortable is a creative’s worst nightmare if you ask me. 9 out of 10 times it is detrimental to their art and creativity. Meeting new people, seeing their processes, and going to new places, are integral to growth in all aspects.
